A great meal and friendly service in this unassuming looking pub. Splendid selection of beers, but we opted for the fizz and fish special and were delighted with the quality and variety of the food, and the equally delicious dry sparkling rose. Absolutely everything spot on, knowledgeable and friendly staff happy to answer our questions and made us feel welcome. Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you.
Isn’t it lovely when you stumble upon a place and the Chef can not only cook but cares about what he is sending over the pass. For us just a quick Friday lunch but wow it was excellent. A leek & Gruyere Quiche served hot with beautifully dressed salad - the dressing perfectly balanced served with an extra portion of hot crispy fries - just perfection. Well done Chef. We went on a Tuesday lunchtime for the wife’s birthday. Music was just the right background volume and some songs were on my playlists so I was happy. Tables were well occupied but plenty of them so comfortably full. Mixture of age groups and some singles felt happy sitting alone here. Lovely setting, with a French/Spanish type of vibe. Nice feel to the place. Outdoor seating and dog friendly indoors. You can also just sit on a barstool for a drink. I like a restaurant with a bar, like a Spanish tapas place. Food excellent and plentiful. Service quick and friendly, thanks Rebecca and all. Nice choice of beers, we had Japanese. Definitely recommend and booked again for their monthly evening Supper Club in November. Can’t wait!
Great Sunday roast. We had the beef and the veggie option. Very tasty and plenty of. Good gravy which can make or break a good roast dinner!! The potato was sooo tasty too. Already looking forward to March's roast.

Our first ever visit for lunch last Saturday and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. (Great music playlist too.) Friendly and attentive staff. The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Highly recommended! 3
Dropped in for luch at The Retreat, our first visit in 32 years! Delicious lunch, great service, welcoming and a magical bar. Quieter at lunchtime than the evening. Amazingly like it was so long ago but bigger. Fantastic.
